Peninsula Symphonic Band Rehearsals Begin

The Peninsula Symphonic Band will begin rehearsals April 4, 7 pm, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1756 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, and the band is seeking instrumentalists in all sections. Music Director Jason Palmer has chosen both traditional and fun selections for the summer session.

“The Peninsula Symphonic Band is a community band that welcomes high school and adult musicians,” Palmer said. “The ensemble will perform four to five concerts between Memorial Day and the first week in August.”

Interested musicians can receive advance copies of the summer repertoire by email to begin preparing before the start of rehearsals in April.

Palmer is the founder and former principal conductor of the Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra in Aurora, Illinois, and recently retired to Door County with his wife, Jamie.
