Perfect Day Greets Door County Triathlon Sprint Participants

Participants were greeted with a picture perfect day at the Door County Sprint Triathlon Saturday, July 14.

A total of 828 athletes finished the race – 430 women and 398 men. Nearly 300 young athletes took place in the third annual Kids’ Triathlon in the afternoon. In that race, kids age 6 – 14 competed.

Sprint participants swam .25 mile, biked 18 miles, and ran 3.1 miles.

The half iron triathlon takes place Sunday, with participants swimming 1.2 miles, biking 56 miles, and running 13.1 miles.

The race starts and ends at Murphy Park in Egg Harbor. Runners hit the water at 8 am.
