Permanent Collection Highlighted at the Miller

“Me and Six Others” by IsAbel Beaudoin.

The Miller Art Museum is looking forward to featuring its permanent collection in the first floor galleries this year with the exhibit “The Four Seasons,” which opens July 25. In the meantime, the second floor galleries will highlight a few pieces from the gallery’s permanent collection of more than 600 paintings, drawings, photographs and fine art prints.

IsAbel Beaudoin recently contributed three additional works to the museum’s permanent collection that will be on exhibit in the mezzanine gallery through July 21. They are the acrylic painting “Me, Myself,” the collagraph print “The Hanawa Horse” which she has said she feels is her best print, and the screenprint “Me and Six Others” that is a self-portrait with the artist’s aunts.

Also recently installed in the second floor gallery is a selection of egg tempera paintings by Door County master painter Gerhard Miller from the museum’s permanent collection.

Presently on exhibit through July 21 in the Miller’s first floor galleries is “Return to Nature:  Wildlife Biennial XIV,” featuring 50 of Wisconsin’s finest wildlife painters, carvers, and sculptors from around the state.

The Miller Art Museum is located within the Door County Library at 107 S. 4th Ave., Sturgeon Bay. Hours are Monday through Saturday 10 am – 5 pm with evening hours Mondays 5 – 8 pm. Admission is free. For more information call 920.746.0707.
