PFLAG Door County Celebrates 20-Year Anniversary with Picnic July 30

Twenty years ago, in 1997, PFLAG Door County (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), our community’s chapter of the national organization of the same name, was founded. PFLAG Door County has been in the vanguard of the advocacy and progress made for our LGBTQ community.

For the past twenty years, PFLAG Door County members and friends have held regular monthly meetings, and more recently started holding a second monthly meeting in Ephraim.

Despite all the positive societal attitudinal changes and progressive legislative enactments during the past two decades, much work remains to be done in advocating LGBTQ rights. Contact PFLAG Door County at 920.421.8815 for more information about scheduling a presentation or learning more about PFLAG or scheduling a showing of a film, etc.

As we recognize the progress of the past 20 years and acknowledge the work that still needs to be done, PFLAG Door County welcomes everyone to its 20th Anniversary Picnic. The gathering is July 30, 1-4 pm, at Sunset Park, 300 Third Avenue, Sturgeon Bay. The rainout location is Hope Church, 141 S 12th Ave, Sturgeon Bay. Please bring a dish to pass as well as your own beverage.
