Phase IV of Cana Island Lighthouse Restoration Proceeding

With the first three phases of the Cana Island Lighthouse restoration completed, the Door County Board of Supervisors authorized the start of the fourth phase, contingent upon receiving sufficient funds from the Door County Maritime Museum, donations and grants.

The fourth phase consists of three primary components. Those are, with estimated costs, restoration of the lightkeeper’s house ($311,690); restoration of the light tower interior ($883,015); and architectural and engineering services (9,350). Included within the estimates are abatement costs ($61,110) and a contingency of $152,328.

The project is expected to be bid in February, with a construction start estimated for the fall of 2021.
