Judges’ comments:

The subject matter of this photo was certainly the most intriguing of any in this year’s contest; it piqued the judges’ curiosity to no end. While many underwater shots depict colorful vegetation and brilliant animal life, the choice of black and white for this underwater shot conveys the barren desolation of the subject, yet the CPR mannequin, the scuba diver lingering in the background and the fish swimming through the scene speak to the potential of life. Kudos to a unique take on a “still life” shot!
