Photography and Hand Weaving Featured in Sturgeon Bay Exhibit

The black and white photography of Paul A. Otto and the hand weavings of Karin Hoffmann-Hoagland will be featured in the Mid-Summer Exhibit at Whitefish Bay Farm Gallery beginning Saturday, July 31 and continuing through Monday, September 6.

The photographs by Paul A. Otto are meticulously composed images that can be more easily classified as art than as pictorial records. This exhibit includes textural pieces with rocks, wood, trees, and water as well as architectural studies of bridges, doors, and windows. Otto’s work is found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Europe. This exhibit is his first at Whitefish Bay Farm Gallery.

Karin Hoffmann-Hoagland has been weaving for more than 30 years. “I weave for enjoyment and relaxation, for the functional creativity it offers,” she said. “I can explore color and structure in every project. I like the idea of useable art and that a weaver can incorporate many mediums – plant and animal fibers, painting and dyeing, unique yarns and blends.” The current exhibit features Hoffmann-Hoagland’s scarves and throws.

Whitefish Bay Farm Gallery is located one and one-half miles east of Hwy 57 on Clark Lake Road (also known as County WD). The gallery is open daily, Wednesday through Sunday from 12 – 5 pm. For more information call 920.743.1560.
