Photography is one facet of visual art that is evolving at a rapid pace – and to explore this changing medium, Ephraim’s Hardy Gallery is pleased to announce the premiere of their “Picture This!” exhibition, which will formally kick off with an opening reception and awards ceremony on September 2 from 5:30 – 7 pm.
Most exhibits at the non-profit Hardy gallery have displayed a wide variety of media, which makes “Picture This!” the first exhibit at the gallery to concentrate solely on works with photographic origins. Professionals and amateur photographers alike will be included in this juried exhibit, which will feature everything in the realm of traditional and digital photographic processes – shot with film, shot digitally, unaltered shots, mixed media, digital manipulations, and more.
“The Hardy is excited to be presenting an exhibit such as this,” said. Elizabeth Meissner-Gigstead, executive director of the Hardy. “Photography is, by and large, not exclusively photography in the traditional sense any longer. This exhibit will explore and contrast photographic processes, which will include traditional, digital, and alternative methods.”
The “Picture This!” exhibit is the final exhibition in the Hardy Gallery’s 2011 season, and will be open to the general public for viewing through October 11.
The Hardy Gallery is located on Ephraim’s Anderson Dock and is open daily from 10 am – 5 pm. For more information call 920.854.2210 or visit http://www.thehardy.org.
