Piecing It Together

The Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay will feature a Bazyli Studio jewelry show, titled “Fragments,” with artists Skye and Peter Ciesla from Aug. 1 – 4, 10 am – 5 pm. In this work, the couple incorporates pottery shards from the southwest of America and China into their unique bead-embroidered jewelry style.

“We love working with these ancient pieces, containing both history and mystery. Our desire is to elevate these ‘fragments’ into something exquisite- a piece of wearable art that could be displayed or worn,” says Skye. “I love the contrast between the Anasazi and Chinese shards – from the bright colored painted porcelain of Ming Dynasty China to the earthy, raw colors of the desert Southwest in the US.”

The show will run through August 17, the artists will be in the gallery on August 1 – 4 to answer questions and present their new work. For more information call 920.854.2487.
