‘Pinpoint’ Exhibit Offers Poetry as Art at Meadows Gallery

Pinpoint – the name and theme of this year’s annual “poetry as art” show at the Meadows Gallery – challenged poets to explore that word either literally or metaphorically, so poets wrote about moments, light and actual pins.

Pinpoint will run until April 30, including all of April, which is National Poetry Month. The public is invited to a tea and reading April 9, 1:30 pm, when participating poets will read their exhibited work.

The participating poets are Gary Jones, June Nirschl, Jami Hanreddy, Estella Lauter, Peter Thelen, Francha Barnard, Barbara Larsen, Anita Beckstrom, Donna Johnson, Jack Redell, Cynthia Johnson, Ann Heyse, Anne Emerson, Ethel Davis, Tom Davis, Ralph Murre, Mike Orlock and Judy Roy.

Because poetry is an art form in itself, not all poems are accompanied by a related piece of visual art, although photographs on canvas by Dottie Diggs, paintings by Danyelle Johnson, quilting by Vivian Hannan and artwork by Judith Seiler will also be on display.

The Meadows Gallery is located in Good Samaritan–Scandia Village, 10560 Applewood Dr. in Sister Bay.
