Pioneer CC Girls Third at Crusader Challenge

Sevastopol and Southern Door were among the 18 cross-country teams with at least five runners competing Tuesday at the Sheboygan Area Lutheran Crusader Challenge.
In the girls 5,000-meter race, the Pioneers placed third with 137 points, with Ozaukee (118) and Kohler (133) finishing in the top-two spots, respectively. Southern Door (328) finished 15th.
Finishing a little bit more than a minute and a half off the winning pace of Kohler’s Maggie Behler (19:31.4) were Southern Door’s Emma Bousley (ninth in 21:08.52) and Sevastopol’s Naomi Rikkola (10th in 21:13.51).
The Pioneers’ Bea Dramm also finished in the top 25 by placing 23rd in 23:55.54.
In the boys race, Southern Door (219) placed seventh in the team standings, with Kohler (55), Campbellsport (86) and Kettle Moraine Lutheran (96) occupying the top-three spots.
Kettle Moraine Lutheran’s Kyle Kieper finished first in 16:51.9.
Southern Door’s top-two runners included Ben Grota (16th in 18:11.99) and Lucas Conard (28th in 18:46.51).
