Pioneer Girls Third in Neenah Nightfall Classic

Sevastopol’s girls cross country team placed third among the small schools competing Friday at the Nightfall Classic 920 in Neenah.

St. Mary Catholic had the top team score of 78, followed by Cedar Grove-Belgium (84), the Pioneers (96), Reedsville (112) and Lourdes Academy (119) rounding out the top five. Gibraltar placed 11th with 340 points.

Lourdes Academy junior Erin Moore was more than a minute ahead of the rest of the small school runners when she finished first in 19:06.39.

Sevastopol had two girls finish in the top 10 with senior Bea Dramm placing third in 20:22.65 and junior Naomi Ribbola finishing sixth in 20:39.5.

The Pioneers’ other three runners whose finishes counted toward the team score included senior Libby Ash (22nd in 22:14.82), freshman Shylee Asher (29th in 22:41.2) and sophomore Sienna Cain (36th in 22:51.73).

The Vikings’ top runner was senior Helen McCormack, who placed 46th in 23:55.81.
