Pioneers Blitz Blazers in Girls Hoops

Sevastopol’s girls basketball team remained undefeated in the Packerland Conference and took sole possession of first in the league on Tuesday after winning at home against NEW Lutheran, 67-25.

The Pioneers, who led 37-10 at halftime, had four players score in double figures led by Bailey Rikkola with a game-high 17 points.

Naomi Rikkola added 12 points, with Kayla Ranly and Libby Ash scoring 10 points apiece.

Ebony Sinclair and Lexie Meerstein led the Blazers with eight points each.

Up next for Sevastopol, which improved to 6-0 in the Packerland and 11-1 overall, is a matchup between the league’s top-two teams Saturday at Oconto, which is 6-1 in the conference after losing Tuesday at Peshtigo, 57-47.

Vikings Victorious over Clippers

Gibraltar’s girls basketball team won a Packerland Conference game for the first time this season Tuesday when the Vikings were victorious at Sturgeon Bay, 61-49.

Andie Schar led three Gibraltar players in double figures with a game-high 17 points. Betsy Lecy and Colleen Carlisle each added 11 points.

The Clippers were led by Autumn Rass with 12 points and Dasha Yeltsheva with 10 points.

The Vikings (1-5, 2-8) host a non-conference game Thursday against Gillett and a conference game Saturday against Algoma.

Sturgeon Bay (0-7, 2-10) plays a conference game Friday at Kewaunee.

Storm Stops Eagles in Second Half

Southern Door’s girls basketball team led by eight points at halftime Tuesday, but ended up losing at home to Kewaunee, 56-54.

Payton Gilbertson led the Eagles with a game-high 18 points. Bella Price added 10 points, with Ashlyn Delfosse and Allianna Dufek scoring nine points each.

The Storm had three players score in double figures led by Jadelynn Kroll with 16 points. Gabby Stangel and Brianna Demmin each added 10 points.

Southern Door (3-4, 7-7) returns to action Saturday at NEW Lutheran.
