Pioneers Sweep Blazers in Softball Twin Bill

Sevastopol’s softball team won both games of the Packerland Conference doubleheader it hosted Monday against NEW Lutheran.

The Pioneers won the first game in five innings, 11-0.

Libby Ash recorded a no-hitter in picking up the pitching victory, allowing two walks and striking out six.

Alaina Schopf led Sevastopol at the plate, batting 2-3 with a double and two runs scored.

The Pioneers won the second game in four innings, 15-0.

Winning pitcher Addison Schauske allowed one hit with two walks and struck out four.

At the plate for Sevastopol, Kayla Ranly batted 1-1 with three walks and three runs scored. Claire Haberli went 1-2 with a double and drove in three runs. Schauske and Schopf both batted 1-2.

The Pioneers, who improved to 9-3 in the conference, return to action Friday afternoon when they host a league doubleheader against Algoma. 

Clippers Victorious Over Vikings

Sturgeon Bay’s softball team won for the first time this season in Packerland Conference play with a 10-0 home victory in five innings over Gibraltar/Washington Island.

Mackenzie Burlo doubled and scored three of the Clippers’ runs. Maddie Propsom added two singles and a pair of runs.

Annika Schoeneman allowed only one hit in pitching the shutout for Sturgeon Bay.

Up next for the Clippers (1-8) is a league doubleheader Tuesday at Peshtigo.

The Vikings (0-9) host a conference doubleheader Tuesday against Kewaunee.
