Pioneers Take Two Road Games in Girls Hoops

Sevastopol’s girls basketball team picked up a pair of non-conference road victories last weekend.

On Friday, the Pioneers defeated Owen-Withee, 46-25.

Kayla Ranly and Naomi Rikkola led Sevastopol with 12 points apiece. Bailey Rikkola added 10 points.

On Saturday, the Pioneers won at Mellen, 64-35.

Naomi Rikkola scored a game-high 19 points, which included four 3-pointers, followed by Bailey Rikkola with 14 points and Ranley with 10.

Sevastopol, which improved to 14-1 overall and is on top of the Packerland Conference at 7-0, next hosts league games Friday against Southern Door and Saturday against Gibraltar.

Clippers Edged by Gillett

Sturgeon Bay’s girls basketball team lost its non-conference game Friday at Gillett, 60-56.

Cady Carlson led the Clippers with 16 points. Autumn Rass and Mackenzie Burlo added 13 points apiece.

Sturgeon Bay (2-13, 0-8) hosts a Packerland Conference game Monday against Oconto, prior to Friday’s league game at Peshtigo.

Vikings Fall to Resorters

Gibraltar’s girls basketball team trailed by 27 points at halftime Saturday and ended up losing a non-conference road game to Elkhart Lake Glenbeulah, 74-42.

Andie Schar led the Vikings with 20 points, followed by Mikala Gorham with eight points.

The Resorters’ top-two scorers were Coryn Fromm with 31 points and Kat Miller adding 24 points.

Gibraltar (2-12, 1-6) hosts a Packerland Conference game Monday against Kewaunee before playing another league game Friday at NEW Lutheran.

Eagles Fly Past Panthers

Southern Door’s girls basketball team won its non-conference game Saturday at Oconto Falls, 44-21.

Allianna Dufek led the Eagles with 21 points.

Southern Door (9-7, 4-4) hosts a Packerland Conference game Monday against Peshtigo, prior to Friday’s league game at Sevastopol.
