Play Reading Club Looks at New York Theater

Third Avenue PlayWorks and the Door County Library will host the next meeting of their Play Reading Club on Jan. 18, 3:30 pm, to discuss Alice Childress’ Trouble in Mind. This 1955 play – which finally premiered on Broadway in 2021 – is a funny, moving and heartbreaking look at racism, identity and ego in the high-stakes world of New York City theater.

Third Avenue PlayWorks’ artistic director, Jacob Janssen, will lead the in-person discussion at the Sturgeon Bay Library, and participants may join via Zoom as well. Copies of the play are available through the library.
