Playing Piano for a Worthy Cause

The community is invited to attend a concert featuring pianists Judy and Carl Jackson on September 18 at 7 pm at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay.

The program will include music of broad appeal, including works by Bach, Mozart, Handel, Gliere, Français and other composers. The hour-long concert will offer a rich variety of styles. As in past years, the couple will present their music to the public in support of a worthy cause.

Nor Door Adult Day Services in Sister Bay will be the beneficiary of this year’s free-will offering. Contributions collected at the concert will be supplemented by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. A representative from Nor Door Adult Day Services will attend this benefit event and will be available to answer questions during the reception after the concert.

The concert will feature the lustrous tones of two nine-foot concert grand pianos: the Esther Browning Steinway, owned by the Peninsula Music Festival (PMF), and the Baldwin Concert Grand Piano, owned by Peter Nehlsen. These instruments were featured earlier this summer during the PMF’s concerts in August (Steinway) and at the Birch Creek Music Performance Center (Baldwin).
