Plum Island Opens to Visitors

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which controls access to Plum Island, will open it to visitors between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. Volunteers with the Friends of Plum & Pilot Islands have been working with the wildlife service to preserve the historic structures on Plum Island and make it accessible to visitors.

Shoreline Scenic Cruises and Charters will offer three-hour hiking and picnic trips on select Saturdays: June 15 and 29, July 13 and 20, and Aug. 3 and 24. Other Saturdays may become available.
