PMF Seminar at Bjِrklunden with Jim Grine

From August 4 – 9, Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden is offering the seminar “The Music of the 2013 Peninsula Music Festival: An Illuminating Musical Journey” with Jim Grine.

Focusing on the great composers performed in the 2013 Peninsula Music Festival (PMF) concerts, this multi-faceted seminar aims to expand the listener’s knowledge and understanding of the Festival’s programmed masterworks, thus leading to a richer enjoyment of each work. This seminar will capture the interest of non-attendees of PMF as well and will shine light on some of Western culture’s finest orchestral literature.

Grine, professor emeritus of music at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, is a frequent leader of Bjِrklunden music seminars and is known for his “demystification” of classical music.

The seminar meets weekday mornings and some evenings at Bjِrklunden’s lodge, just south of Baileys Harbor. Each seminar includes meals prepared by Bjِrklunden’s resident chef.
