PMF’s February Fest Begins Feb. 13 at Shepherd of the Bay

All the way from Singapore and Houston, Igor Yuzefovich, concertmaster of Peninsula Music Festival (PMF) and the Singapore Symphony, and Joan DerHovsepian, principal viola of PMF and associate principal of the Houston Symphony, will present the first concert of the 2016 February Fest. The 2 pm concert will take place at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay on Feb. 13. The concert will feature the music of Mozart, Villa-Lobos and Handel. General admission seating is just $25. Students and children are just $5. A three-concert subscription is available for $60. February Fest concerts will also be held on Feb. 20 and Feb. 27.

Internationally acclaimed violinist Igor Yuzefovich was most recently appointed Concertmaster of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, having previously served as Concertmaster with the Hong Kong Philharmonic and Assistant Concertmaster with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Violist Joan DerHovsepian has been a member of PMF since 1992. Previous solo performances with the PMF include Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto #6,” “Harold in Italy” by Berlioz, Mozart’s “Sinfonia Concertante,” and the Penderecki and Walton Viola Concertos. DerHovsepian holds the position of Associate Principal Viola of the Houston Symphony Orchestra.

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to bid on “Golf with the Concertmaster” and “Lunch with the Concertmaster.” A brief reception will follow the concert.
