Poetry Reading in Kewaunee

The public is invited to a poetry performance by Kathryn Gahl at the Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art on Monday, October 12 at 7 pm. Gahl will be reading from and signing copies of her new book Life Drawing Class:  Poems both sassy and sophisticated.

Gahl is a writer, dancer, and registered nurse, and her poems and stories are widely published in small journals. She earned a B.S. in English at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a B.S. in Nursing at Syracuse University (NY). After 25 years in nursing and nursing management, she became a full-time writer, studying at Bread Loaf, Stonecoast, Sewanee, Iowa Writers’ Workshop Fiction Intensive, Iowa Summer Festival, Vermont College, and Taos.

Her readings have been described as “lively and pulsating. Even if you don’t like poetry, you will get goosebumps when you hear Kathryn.”

The Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art is located at 109 Duvall Street in Kewaunee. For more information email [email protected] or visit www. kathryngahl.com.
