Pond Hockey Tournament Nearly Full

Forty teams have already signed up for the Feb. 10 Door County Pond Hockey Tournament, leaving just a few openings left. The tournament is capped at 44 teams.

The fifth annual event takes place on Kangaroo Lake in Baileys Harbor, with a dozen rinks cleared for 4-on-4 play in a one-day battle for the coveted Stanley Thermos. Each team has seven players who compete with no goalie, creating a fast-paced game with an emphasis on stick-handling.

This year’s tournament will feature a warming tent for spectators on the ice, with food and beverages and beer from Door County Brewing Co. available.

Volunteers are needed to keep score throughout the day. Scorekeepers will receive great tournament gear to keep score for three games or more. To sign up, email [email protected].
