Pond Tour June 26 Benefits Family Centers

On Saturday, June 26 the public is welcome to embark on a self-guided tour, from 9 am – 3 pm, of some of the peninsula’s finest backyard gardens and water features. The Parade of Ponds, presented by WaterScape Designs, is a great chance to get ideas, view amazing water creations, and share in the passion of the pond creators. Whether a veteran water gardening enthusiast or just a beginner, individuals of all ages will be amazed at the beautiful gardens and outdoor living lifestyles that are featured. Owners will be on site to share their tips and techniques.

“The water gardening hobby is changing lifestyles and bringing people together,” said Organizer Justine Mancheski of WaterScape Designs. “Couples are finding a hobby to share and families are spending quality time together as they discover nature, peace, and serenity pond side.”

Proceeds from the Parade of Ponds will benefit The Family Centers of Door County. The organization strives to strengthen and support families and communities by bringing people together at over 100 free or low cost events throughout the county each year. Since 2006, the event has raised over $11,000 for the organization.

The tour costs $15 for adults, children ages 10 and under are free, and includes a wristband and a 32-page tour guidebook. The book is available at any Baylake Bank, WaterScape Designs, the Parade of Ponds website, or one of the stops on the day of the tour.
