Poster Contest for K-12 Students

The Wisconsin Land and Water Association has been hosting a Conservation Awareness Poster Contest for 65 years, and this winter, the Door County Soil & Water Conservation Department (SWCD) will host a local version.

The theme this year is “One Water,” so posters should represent this theme and include the theme’s title. The poster size must be 14 inches by 22 inches, or 12 inches by 18 inches. Students are encouraged to use their creativity with the type of media they choose.

The contest is open to all public school, private school and home-schooled students in grades K-12. Judging will be split into grade divisions – K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 – and posters will be evaluated on their conservation message, visual effectiveness, originality, universal appeal and individual artwork.

Winners in each age group will receive passes to the Door County Maritime Museum, and all participants will receive a single-scoop custard token from Culver’s.
