Powerful Tools for Caregivers Workshop

The Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of the Lakeshore will offer a Powerful Tools for Caregivers workshop on Tuesdays, Sept. 27 – Nov. 1, 6-8:30 pm, at the Kewaunee County Public Health and Human Services building, 810 Lincoln St. in Kewaunee.

Learn techniques to reduce stress; communicate effectively with family, friends and medical professionals; reduce guilt, anger, fear, depression and tension; practice relaxation techniques; and build confidence in handling difficult caregiving situations, emotions and decisions. Though this class is educational in nature, support also comes from other caregivers who are experiencing similar feelings and struggles.

Respite care for loved ones who are unable to be home alone during the sessions may be available. To inquire about this service, call the ADRC of the Lakeshore at 1.877.416.7083. An assessment is required prior to the start of the first class, and a minimum of three weeks is required to coordinate this service.

Attendance at all six sessions is highly encouraged. A suggested donation of $10 is collected at the first class to help defray the cost of the provided textbook.
