Presentation Examines How Climate Change Will Impact Door County

How is the climate crisis already changing Door County, and what will we face in the future?

Steve Vavrus – senior scientist at the Nelson Institute’s Center for Climatic Research at UW-Madison, and co-director of the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts (WICCI) – will address these questions June 2, 7 pm, during a free, virtual event sponsored by the Climate Change Coalition.

Vavrus will discuss the latest work by WICCI, a collaborative project of the Nelson Institute and the state’s Department of Natural Resources; and discuss projected climate impacts in northeastern Wisconsin and Door County. He and his wife have a summer home in Ellison Bay.This is the third presentation in the Climate Change Coalition’s 2021 Season of Action, which also includes a summer-long series of field trips to explore sustainable agriculture and climate impacts on local flora, fauna and wetlands.
