Preservation Classes Hosted by NWTC in Sturgeon Bay

A series of food preservation classes sponsored by the Door County UW-Extension Office will be held in Sturgeon Bay. Pam Peterson, family living educator, and Jenny Spude, nutrition coordinator, will be conducting the classes.

The first class, “Making and Preserving Jam,” will be held June 23 from 2 – 5 pm at NWTC in Sturgeon Bay. Participants will learn how to make and preserve jams safely at home. This is a hands-on experience and all materials will be provided. Participants will take home canned products.

Other classes include “Cucumbers” on Aug. 11, “Tomatoes” on Sept. 1 and “Apples” on Sept. 29. Each class will be held from 1 – 4 pm at NWTC in Sturgeon Bay.

The cost for each class is $10 per person. Registration is required 10 days before each class begins; space is limited.

Make checks payable to Door County UW-Extension and mail a reservation to the Door County Extension Office, 421 Nebraska Street, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235.
