Preservation and Re-purposing at Horseshoe Bay Farms

The Door County Community Foundation recently awarded the Egg Harbor Historical Society grants from the Historic Preservation Fund and The Clifford & Clara Herlache Heritage Foundation to support the development of a master plan to determine what is needed to preserve and re-purpose the Horseshoe Bay Farms structures.

The Master Plan will identify the steps needed to maintain the existing structures, determine placement of the Egg Harbor Historical Society office within one of the buildings, establish uses of the property that will foster the telling of the Horseshoe Bay Farms story, and propose creative options on how the property might be used for other community initiatives.

Kaaren Northrop, board member of the Door County Community Foundation, commented, “We are excited about the cultural enrichment opportunities this project will bring to Egg Harbor and the entire Door County community.”
