Prevea Health Hosts Free Seminar about Procedure to Stop Heartburn

Prevea Health will host a free, educational seminar March 7 in Sturgeon Bay for those who suffer from heartburn or acid reflux. The seminar will focus on the benefits of a breakthrough procedure called, LINX. Dr. Hassanain Jassim, a bariatric and general surgeon, and Sally Bowa, APNP at the Prevea Heartburn Treatment Center, will discuss Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and how LINX – a simple and innovative 30-minute procedure – can help stop acid reflux at its source.

“If a patient has reflux and is taking medication, there’s a good potential they’ll qualify for LINX,” said Dr. Jassim. “Typically, patients come in and go home in the same day as the surgery only takes about 60 minutes. After that, most patients can stop their medication.”

Registration begins at 5:45 pm, with the presentation at 6:15 pm. The presentation will be held at Stone Harbor Resort, 107 N. First Ave., Sturgeon Bay. RSVP by March 4 at prevea.com/linx.
