Prevent Suicide – Door County Nathan Wilson Coalition Receives Grants to Expand Prevention Training

Prevent Suicide – Door County Nathan Wilson Coalition thanks The Women’s Fund of Door County and the Door County Community Foundation for providing grants to expand their mission of suicide prevention/QPR trainings. From April 2016 to July 2017 the group dedicated their trainings to “The Year of the Woman.”

The QPR presentations train the public on the ability to ask the Question if someone is thinking to hurt/kill themselves, to Persuade them to get help and to know who to Refer them to (the crisis numbers and organizations that will help).

Nineteen QPR trainings were held throughout Door County, training 359 people. The coalition was also able to support the presentation by Mettie Spiess on suicide prevention which was attended by 90 people.
