Printmaking Demo at Idea Gallery

Idea Gallery will host printmaker Barbara Manger for a printing demonstration June 16, 1-3pm on the gallery grounds. The gallery showcases Manger’s richly layered works that explore the world of nature.

Manger said, “I engage line as a metaphor, creating marks that repeat and weave themselves together like fabric or like rivers; some lines can be traced to their origins, but another’s end and beginning may never be found. The lines are formed by the path or movement of a river or by a swirl of leaves caught in a current or the wind. My focus is sometimes on directing and ordering line, but mostly I am intrigued by tangles, overlays and apparent disorder.”

Manger’s demonstration will incorporate the use of many natural materials such as grasses and leaves. This informative demonstration will prelude a class she will teach at Idea Gallery, Aug. 19, 12 – 4 pm. The class size is limited for in-depth, personal instruction. No prior printing experience is necessary. The class cost of $150 includes all materials and refreshments. The $150 preregistration fee is required for participation. To register, call 920.655.1340 or email [email protected].
