Private Sorolla Tour and Catalog Available

In honor of the 100th anniversary of Joaquin Sorolla’s 1909 exhibition, a collectible centennial edition catalog – Eight Essays on Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida will be presented to a select group of “Friends of the Hispanic Society” on June 15, 2009 at the Museo del Prado in Madrid.

Barnsite Gallery and the Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art have been informed by the Hispanic Society of America, that “as we have discussed, we are only able to offer 25 invitations to this event and they will be given on a first come first served basis to new members…As a courtesy to your organization we will not be distributing these applications to anyone else in the United States.”

The presentation will include the company of several important personalities from Spain, such as Sorolla’s great granddaughter Blanca Pons Sorolla, and will be followed by a private tour of the monumental retrospective exhibition “Joaquin Sorolla (1863-1923).” The exhibition rooms will be closed to the public during this presentation and tour.
