Professional Fisher Dale Stroschein Visits Fishing Club

Dale Stroschein and his wife, Karyn, were guests of the Sturgeon Bay School District’s fishing club – led by teacher Robert Schartner – in December. Stroschein is an accomplished guide, professional fisher and member of the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame.

During his visit with the 30-member fishing club, he shared his insights and knowledge about ice safety, fishing careers and the positive psychological effect the outdoors can have in escaping technology and stress.

“For any of us who want to consider a career in the outdoors, it was great to hear from a guy who has accomplished so much and made a good living fishing,” said student Jake Schneider.

The Stroscheins generously donated a Jiffy E6 auger with replacement blades, a portable Frabill Aegis two-person ice shanty, and 30 Frabill rods and reels – one for each member. In total, the students received more than $2,000 in free gear

Stroschein also discussed future opportunities that he may be able to make available to the club, which is thrilled to have his support and thanks him for sharing his talents and knowledge with the students.
