Professional Turf Management Meeting

Managing turf in the urban setting has its own set of unique challenges and subsequent recommendations. If you are interested in learning more about managing large areas of turf, UW-Extension invites you to hear from UW-Extension county agent and state specialists regarding professional turf management.

Presentations include: “European Chafer: A New Pest in Turf” by Annie Deutsch, Door County UW-Extension Agriculture Agent; “Best Management Practices for Protecting Pollinators in the Urban Landscape” by Chris Williamson, UW Entomology, Turfgrass and Ornamental Entomology Specialist; and “What’s New in Lawn Fertilization?” with Doug Soldat, UW Soil Science, Turfgrass and Urban Soil Specialist.

The meeting will be held from 1-2:30 pm on Feb. 23 in the Peninsula Room at the Door County Government Center, 421 Nebraska St., Sturgeon Bay. Registration is free, but RSVP for this event by Feb. 17 by contacting Deutsch at 920.746.2263.
