“Project India” Opens at Plum Bottom Pottery

Plum Bottom Pottery will host the opening of “Project India” on Oct. 6 from 4 – 8 pm. This event showcases Angela Lensch’s jewelry inspired by her six-week excursion to India and Nepal. “Project India” also features the photography of Daniel Luedcke, who chronicled Lensch’s travels. This project was generously supported in part by a grant from the Peninsula Arts Association with funds from the State of Wisconsin.

Handmade sari and paper wrapped beads were created in workshops led by Lensch with local Indian women cooperatives. Vibrantly colored necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, incorporating these hand made elements, will be featured in the gallery.

Over 50 photographs on fabric or metal canvases will introduce Luedcke’s photographs to Door County audiences. These images show Lensch leading her bead making workshops and breathtaking images of India.

Wine and light hors d’oeuvres featuring the flavors of India will also be served.

Also, on Oct. 4, 6 – 7:30, an Artist Talk with Lensch will take place at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ephraim. Enjoy a cup of chai tea while learning more about Project India and viewing Lensch’s slideshow of India. Indian inspired refreshments will follow the presentation. The UUF is located at 10341 Highway 42 in Ephraim.
