Property tax bills coming

 

The Door County Real Property Listing has printed the 2010 tax bills. Property owners can expect to receive their bill by mid-December. The lottery credit in the Gibraltar School District is $26.15; the Washington Island School District, $32.46; in the Sevastopol School District, $45.53; the Southern Door School District, $77.49; Sturgeon Bay School District $88.87.

 

First Dollar credits are $20.74 in Gibraltar; $25.74 in Washington Island; $36.11 in Sevastopol; $61.45 in Southern Door; $70.48 in Sturgeon Bay.

 

Sign regulations in the Village of Egg Harbor have changed. Sandwich board style signs will no longer be allowed, per a study group recommendation. The new ordinance will allow a wider variety of open flags, rather than just a standard flag design.

 

The Door County Visitor Bureau (DCVB) wants ideas for presenters or possible educational opportunities they can help bring to Door County business owners. “We are always on the lookout for quality presenters,” said DCVB Membership Director Phil Berndt. Jacksonport Township will join the ranks of those that have property taxes collected by the County of Door this year. Of Door County’s 19 municipalities, 15 use the Door County Treasurer’s Office to collect property taxes.

 

Candidates may now circulate nomination papers for April’s elections. The deadline to file nomination papers with town and village clerks is Jan. 4, 2011 at 5 pm. The spring election is scheduled for April 5, 2011.

 

The Sister Bay Village Board hosts its last meeting of 2010 on Dec. 14 at the Sister Bay Fire Station.
