PSA Presents Dr. Villarroel for Door County Reads

The Peninsula Art School in Fish Creek will present a lecture by Dr. Gratzia Villarroel as a part of Door County Reads on Thursday, Feb. 10 at 7 pm.

Dr. Villarroel, an Associate Professor of International Relations and Comparative Politics at St. Norbert College in DePere, will present “Censored: Silenced Voices in Latin America’s Late 20th Century Military Dictatorships.”

Repression and lack of personal freedoms are realities in our present world. Dr. Villarroel will compare them to the realities depicted in Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451. She will discuss where the majority of these censorship and totalitarian issues are thriving and why.

Dr. Villarroel is a noteworthy speaker on topics of oppression, repression, personal freedoms, and how people survive and manage dictatorial conditions. She will bring an international, thoughtful look into this year’s Door County Reads.

The Peninsula Art School is located at 3900 County F in Fish Creek. All are welcome.
