Public-Comment Period Open for Door County Land Trust Accreditation Renewal

Five years ago, the national Land Trust Accreditation Commission awarded the Door County Land Trust (DCLT, DoorCountyLandTrust.org) the seal of accreditation. This accreditation program recognizes land-conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever.

DCLT will seek renewal of its status as an accredited land trust. As part of that process, the Land Trust Accreditation Commission invites public input and will accept written comments on DCLT’s renewal application. A public-comment period is now open.

Comments must relate to how DCLT complies with national quality standards, which address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. A full list of standards is available at landtrustaccreditation.org/help-and-resources/indicator-practices.

To learn more about the accreditation program and to submit a comment, visit landtrustaccreditation.org or email your comment to [email protected]. Comments will be most useful if they’re received by May 21.

Comments may also be faxed to 518.587.3183 or mailed to the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, Attn: Public Comments, 36 Phila Street, Suite 2, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
