Public Health Vaccine Supply Expanding

Door County has now provided a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to 73.5% of residents 65 and older.

Beginning March 22 individuals with underlying health conditions will be eligible for vaccines. In a statement released Friday, the Door County Department of Public Health said it anticipates its allotment of vaccine will continue to increase.

As the demand for appointments increases the department will transition to online scheduling for vaccine appointments. That system will open next week. Those without internet access will be able to schedule appointments by phone.

The department vaccinated 678 individuals at its vaccine clinic this week, and will be providing an additional clinic on Washington Island for island residents next week. Plans are underway to offer a vaccine clinic in Sister Bay as well.
