Public Meeting to Discuss Downtown Sister Bay Development

The public is invited to discuss Sister Bay downtown redevelopment plans at a meeting on April 16 at 6 pm at the fire station.

In January the Village of Sister Bay hired a consulting firm, Vandewalle & Associates, Inc., to create a development plan for the downtown area. The village would use the plan to encourage development in empty buildings and parcels.

But first, the village needs to know what people want to see downtown.

“If the village can identify what it wants to do and has public support, [development] is more likely to happen than just waiting for someone to come to town,” said Village Administrator Robert Kufrin.

Copies of the plan are available on the village website, at the Sister Bay–Liberty Grove library and the Sister Bay post office.
