Pulse Writer Wins Award

Gary Jones of Sister Bay, who frequently contributes to the Peninsula Pulse, won Honorable Mention in the Wisconsin Writers Association’s Jade Ring contest with his essay titled, “Adjunct.”

He was awarded a certificate at the banquet on Sept. 27 at the Wisconsin Writers Association Fall Conference at the Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids.

Writers can submit their entries for the Jade Ring contest between May 1 and July 31, no membership required. The WWA was founded in 1948 by Professor Robert E. Gard of the University of Wisconsin.

The purpose of the organization is to draw together the many diverse creative writing elements in Wisconsin and the surrounding states, and to provide an outlet for creative talent. For more information visit
