Quartet Plays Price, Marsalis, Mendelssohn

Midsummer’s Music’s Griffon String Quartet will perform a concert March 19, 3 pm, featuring works by two contemporary composers of color and a German classical master: Florence Price’s “String Quartet in G Major,” Wynton Marsalis’ “At the Octoroon Balls: String Quartet No. 1” and Felix Mendelssohn’s “Quartet in D Major, Op. 44, No. 1,” respectively. 

The Griffon’s performing musicians are violinists Roy Meyer and Henry Zheng, violist Erin Rafferty and cellist Jesse Nummelin.

The concert will take place at the Kress Pavilion, 7845 Church St. in Egg Harbor. Admission is free, but donations will be appreciated at the door. Reserve tickets at midsummersmusic.com or by calling 920.854.7088.
