Families will be the focus of nine days of prayer and reflection – Feb. 1-9 – at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion. The Novena to Our Lady of Good Help: Queen of Families is a prayer series with daily themes that fosters reflection on the importance of family in the Catholic faith.
“Our Family Novena is a wonderful time for worshipers to reflect on the love of a family and the message that Adele Brise gave to all throughout this area 160 years ago,” said Father John Broussard, rector at the shrine.
All are welcome to visit America’s Marian Apparition Site to pray along with the daily themes or to visit ShrineOfOurLadyOfGoodHelp.com (click on “Prayer & Novenas” in the left-side bar) to sign up to receive the prayers by email.
The Family Novena closes on Feb. 9, when the monthly Adele Brise Day service and Anointing of the Sick will take place at 11 am.
The shrine is located at 4047 Chapel Drive in Champion and is open 365 days a year from 7 am to 7 pm. For more information, visit ShrineOfOurLadyOfGoodHelp.com.
