Reetz Enters Race for Circuit Court Judge

The deadline for the candidate filing period for the spring, April 2 election is Jan. 2, but already another candidate has announced a run for the seat that will be left vacant by the retiring Door County Circuit Judge in Branch One, D. Todd Ehlers.

Shortly after Ehlers announced in August he would retire after 24 years on the bench, Door County Family Court Commissioner Jennifer Moeller announced her bid for the seat. Now, Brett Reetz has announced his candidacy for the position.

Reetz is a 1992 DePaul Law School graduate, where he also received his undergraduate degree in economics. He works primarily as a trial lawyer who has represented people in criminal cases from disorderly conduct to homicide to kidnapping charges. He’s also argued cases in front of the Appellate Court and the Supreme Court of the State of Wisconsin. He’s been a resident of Door County since 1992.

Complete coverage of the candidates for all Door County races will follow the Jan. 2 deadline for candidates to file their nomination papers.
