RCSB Has Opened the Application Process for 2017 Students

The chair of the Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay (RCSB) Four-Year Scholarship Committee has opened the application process for Door County Class of 2017 students. Scholarships will be awarded to four-year degree-seeking graduates. The focus of the scholarships is on one of the key principles of Rotary, “Service Above Self.”

Rotary will award scholarships to four-year degree seeking-students in the upper 50 percent of their high school class who are planning to pursue a full-time course of studies at an accredited college or university. Four-year “Service Above Self” scholarships will be awarded to those students who can demonstrate excellence in service to others in their community.

Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay is partnering with Write On, Door County in offering essay-writing assistance to any student who desires this with the essay portion of the scholarship application.

These scholarships will range from $1,500 to $2,500 and are funded by the Rotary Club of Sturgeon Bay Charitable Trust. In 2016 more than $20,000 in scholarships were awarded, and a similar amount is expected in 2017. A significant portion of those funds will be raised in their NCAA Night fundraiser, held on April 3, 2017.

Complete scholarship information and application instructions can be found at doorcountyscholarships.org. All applications must be made using the Door County Scholarship Network common application. A committee of Rotarians will make the final selections. Applications must be submitted by March 15, 2017.
