Re-discover a Classic

Savory Spoon Cooking School presents guest chef Amy Rebhan on July 17 at 6 pm to re-discover the classic Surf ‘n Turf. Learn to make a chilled summer soup and broil a great steak. Grilled steak and shrimp are the ultimate summer treat; learn to pair them with the season’s freshest and most colorful produce. Participants will also learn how to make summer entertaining even easier and more enjoyable.

The menu includes chilled Zucchini Soup; London Broil with Chipotle Mayonnaise, Garlic and Hot Pepper Shrimp; Herb Tossed Corn; and Yogurt Cake with Raspberry Sauce. The cost is $65.

On July 18 at 6 pm, Savory Spoon will have a class all about blue cheese. This class will feature a variety of blue cheeses offered by the Schoolhouse Artisan Cheese in Egg Harbor. Blue cheese can be made from cow’s milk, sheep’s milk or goat’s milk. Menu includes: 

Pumpkin Soup with Wisconsin Blue Toasts; Apple and Blue Coleslaw
; Blue Stuffed Chicken Breast
; 
Mashers Got The Blues; Apple and Leek Blue Cheese Tart with a Good Port Pairing. The cost is $65.

Cathy Mazurek of Sweetie Pies is visiting Savory Spoon on July 19 at 9:30 am to share secrets of making a perfect pie. Learn the techniques used for making a flaky crust, cutie pies, crumb pies and how to make lattice. 

The cost is $55.
