Rebuilding Anclam Jetty in Baileys Harbor

The Anclam Park jetty has reopened, following a project in which JS Construction put down crushed gravel for a $13,000 repair to the beach attraction. Repairs to the 10-foot-wide pathway also used some soil and materials provided by the Town of Baileys Harbor from its Green Site. The park did not close, but the pathway on the stone structure that juts into Lake Michigan closed for about a year due to washouts caused by high water levels and wave action.

In another lake-damage-related project approved by the town board, Payne and Dolan won an $8,000 contract to shore up undercut concrete at the Bues Point boat ramp, located between Cana Island and Moonlight Bay. Photo by Craig Sterrett.
