Reception and Demo Opens Fine Line’s Season

Fine Line Designs Gallery announces its opening reception of the 2016 summer season will be held May 28, 4 – 7 pm. Exhibit I features the work of oil painters Debra Reid Jenkins, Liz Maltman and Bonnie Paruch as well as the work of bronze artists Jack and Alice McLean. Paruch will be on hand for an onsite artist demonstration on May 29, 11 am – 2 pm.

Having original training in portraiture, oil painter Jenkins combines this more formal training with plein air to offer a much different approach to a typical landscape. “I view a landscape as a ‘portrait’ of a particular place and time,” Jenkins says. “Having learned what makes a person’s face uniquely theirs, I use those same observational skills when I approach a landscape.”

Door County oil, acrylic and pastel painter Maltman is thrilled to be part of her first Fine Line show. Typically an artist who loves to paint en plein air, Maltman says her work is all about experimentation with a healthy dose of color.

Longtime Door County artist Paruch has been drawing and painting the wonders of nature – and life – for as long as she can remember. “I’m absolutely seduced by the beauty I see around me,” Paruch says.

The McLeans create their one-of-a-kind bronze constructions with hot process patinas – a process that has evolved through Jack’s 40-year dialogue with materials.

Exhibit I will continue through June 7. Fine Line is located at 10376 Highway 42 in north Ephraim. For more information, visit finelinedesignsgallery.com or call 920.854.4343.
