Recycling Conundrums: Aluminum Foil

We use it to keep dishes hot, tear it off pieces of Dove dark chocolate, and put food in it to cook on the grill; but after the meal is over, aluminum foil is usually thrown out. It doesn’t have to be.

Little Hoppers accepts used aluminum foil in its co-mingled bins, so long as it’s clean. And while it does not accept aluminum foil with co-mingled recycling, Going Garbage does accept it with mixed metals at its drop-off site in Sister Bay.

So if you can rinse it off or keep it clean, you can keep it out of the landfill.
