Register for Be The Match at Door County Half Marathon

Be The Match, the largest national bone marrow registry, will offer free registration for individuals 18-44 during the Door County Half Marathon held May 7 at Peninsula State Park. The event will be held in memory of Bo Johnson, a Sister Bay boy who inspired the entire Door County community and beyond in his fight with leukemia in 2012. Though Bo died in September of 2012, his battle continues.

“Every four minutes someone like Bo is told they have a blood cancer or disease and the cure is someone else’s bone marrow or stem cells,” said Bo’s mother Annika Johnson, who started the Go Bo Foundation. “Imagine a cure for cancer! It could be you!”

The GO BO Foundation brings hope to children with life-threatening medical conditions by funding research, supporting treatment, and helping their families during times of financial need.

If you don’t qualify for the registry, the foundation encourages participation through donations. To find out more about Be The Match or the GO BO Foundation visit gobofoundation.org or bethematch.com.
